Project Overview
Approached by a European construction firm seeking to enhance fuel efficiency and reduce operational expenses, we collaborated on electrifying their construction machinery. The client sought to experiment with transforming their bulldozers from traditional fuel-powered to extended-range drives. Leveraging Bogen's rich expertise in this domain, they entrusted us with supplying the motors and controllers necessary for this endeavor. Ultimately, we delivered a powertrain system design and installation that effectively slashed the company's vehicle operating costs by 10-20% when compared to standard fuel models. Presently, the project has advanced to the phase of a small batch.
Project Timeline:
Nov, 2022 - Apr, 2024
Solution Item List:
- 2* 120/282KW Drive Motors and Motor Controllers
- 210KW Generator+Controller
Application Scope:
Construction Machinery
Services We Offer:
According to the customer's requirements for the motor torque, combined with the working conditions, we developed an ev powertrain system for the customer, after the installation, we also assisted the customer through remote technical support services, troubleshooting bugs, to complete all the prototype testing, and now the project has successfully entered the small batch stage!
Challenge:
This project was started in November 2022 and the customer's requirement was one generator and two drive motors.
As of August 2023, we cooperated with the customer to complete the connection of the wiring harness, no load bench test, and complete the mounting of the earthmover.
The customer conducted a preliminary test in November 2023, the car can move, but there has been a large current error generated.
Alternative Solutions:
After collecting CAN telegrams, we found that the high current problem was caused by too much torque.
In June 2024, we arranged to send the CAN box to the customer, provided the PC software, and remotely modified the torque of the drive motor controller to 1500Nm. So far, the high current error disappeared, and the customer continued to carry out the test, and no other problems arose.
